Description

This module introduces the student to a variety of key theories, methods and concepts in History. It is divided into two main parts:1. Historical method and theory: a consideration of how history is studied, the role of interpretation, and the critical assessment of both primary and secondary historical sources, including textual evidence and material culture; 2. Economic, social and political history: a detailed examination of contemporary debates in one specific area of historical research, twentieth century Britain (1900-1950), with the practical application of historical method and theory.
